Spalding Flower Parade
1993

The 1993 Spalding Flower Parade marked 35 years of this annual event and it was held on Saturday 1st May. The theme was '35 Years of floral entertainment'

The parade left the Sir Halley Stewart field at 1pm and consisted of:

The Romsey Old Cadets entertained along the route before the parade started

  7. Breakdown vehicle

  8. 13th City of Coventry Scout Marching Band

  9. Young Farmers on Parade

  10. Long Sutton & District Veteran Cycle Club

  11. The old Lady who lived in a shoe entered by Broadgate Builders

  12. Derby Serenaders Showband

  13. Turners Turkeys goes to London entered by Turners Turkeys

  14. Wheel of industry entered by Lincolnshire Training and Enterprise Council

  15. Hasland Drum Corps

  16. Making the most of flowers and plants entered by Flowers and Plants Association

  17. Food from the countryside entered by National Farmers Union

  18. Breakdown vehicle

Caroline Anning was elected as the 1993 Flower Queen.  The 21-year old senior care assistant was engaged to be married at the time. She rode in the parade on the float sponsored by the South Holland District Council. She was accompanied by her deputy, Fiona Chester (18).
