Spalding Flower Parade
1983

The 1983 Flower Parade was special as it was the 25th (Silver Jubilee). The theme was 'Let's go and grow'.

The parade was held on Saturday May 7th and it set off from the Halley Stewart field at 1.30pm.

The parade consisted of:

  1. Police horses

  2. West Midlands Police Pipe Band

  3. Miss Tulipland 1983

  4. Breakdown vehicle

  5. Be a young farmer entered by the Young Farmers

  6. Melton Mowbray Tally Ho's Band

  7. A gnome of your own entered by Leeds Building Society

  8. Gardening is fun entered by Garden News

  9. Ely City Military Band

  10. Texas entered by Geo. Adams

  11. Romsey Old Cadets Association

  12. Ice follies

  13. Beat the burglar entered by Lincolnshire Police

  14. Long Sutton & District Veteran Cycle Club

  15. Flowers make a beautiful garden entered by Geest

  16. Marching & Concert Band of Braintree

  17. Golden Harvest entered by Holland Branch of National Farmers Union

  18. Rembrandt entered by Haven of Happiness Lodge
