Spalding Flower Parade
1982

The 1982 Spalding Flower Parade took place on Saturday May 8th, starting at the Sir Halley Stewart field at 1.30pm. This year, the parade was part of the English Tourist Board's 'Maritime England' promotion. Twenty-six trains arrived in Spalding, packed with visitors. The attendance was close to half a million.

The parade consisted of:

  1. Police horses

  2. Breakdown vehicle

  3. Trumpets, drums and lyras of the 13th Coventry Scout Group

  4. Miss Tulipland 1982

  5. Young Farmers 'All at Sea'

  6. Ely City Military Band

  7. England Expects entered by the English Tourist Board

  8. British food keeps Popeye afloat entered by the National Farmers Union

  9. Derby Serenaders Show Band

  10. The Channel Tunnel entered by British Rail

  11. Land in sight entered by Lingarden Ltd

  12. Hasland Drum Corps

  13. Jolly Fisherman entered by East Lindsey District Council

  14. Treasure Island entered by Groom Bros

  15. Romford Royal British Legion Boys Band

  16. The Halifax Vikings entered by Halifax Building Society
