Distinguished Civic Leaders Appointed as Patrons of the Spalding Flower Parade

The Spalding Flower Parade CIC is honoured to announce that three of Lincolnshire’s most respected public figures have formally agreed to serve as Patrons of the Spalding Flower Parade: His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, Mr Toby Dennis, Sir John Hayes CBE MP, and Councillor Jan Whitbourn BEM, Chairman of South Holland District Council.
Their collective support marks a significant milestone in the continued revival and growth of one of the region’s most cherished cultural events.
His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, Mr Toby Dennis
As the King’s representative in the county, the Lord-Lieutenant’s patronage reflects the Parade’s growing regional and national profile. Mr Dennis has long championed community cohesion, civic pride, and the celebration of Lincolnshire’s heritage—values that lie at the heart of the Spalding Flower Parade.
Sir John Hayes CBE MP
Sir John Hayes CBE MP, Member of Parliament for South Holland and The Deepings, brings decades of public service, advocacy, and commitment to the people of South Holland. His longstanding support for local traditions and community-led initiatives strengthens the Parade’s mission to inspire, unite, and celebrate the district.
Councillor Jan Whitbourn BEM, Chairman of South Holland District Council
Councillor Jan Whitbourn BEM, serving as Chairman of South Holland District Council and recognised for her outstanding service to the community through the British Empire Medal, joins the Parade as a Patron with deep local knowledge and a passion for civic engagement. Her leadership and dedication to South Holland’s residents make her an invaluable ambassador for the event.

The appointment of these three distinguished Patrons underscores the Parade’s importance as a cultural, economic, and community asset for South Holland and the wider county.
